My name is Tim, and I graduated from the Trained for Success 8-week program on May 4th, 2017. Before the Trained for Success program, I was living in a shelter playing guitar, drinking, and using drugs; this was my daily routine. Being in the course has helped me be sober. I haven’t felt as much of a desire to use since I have found something to fill up my day that makes me feel fulfilled, better about myself, and most importantly, confident. HAVE assisted me in looking for a job, creating a resume, and securing a job. They helped me feel like I can contribute and give back to the world, community, and society. I will be starting the first day of my job on the same day of my graduation.

Hi, my name is Diane. I began with HAVE in 2016 and I am currently in the Industry Training Authority Professional Cook Level 2 Program. I am employed with HAVE as a catering cook and at Crabtree Corner. I heard about HAVE through another mother at Crabtree Corner who had gone through the HAVE Trained for Success program.

HAVE has changed my life; I no longer want to sit at home being depressed and sad. I am more driven to get going and do things, and I have a lot more excitement in life. This inspires my daughter, who occasionally volunteers at HAVE and knows where she wants to go in life. I am a full-time single mother to my teenage daughter, Purity. By being a good role model, I am teaching my daughter the value of attending school, being on time, and being accountable.
